We know that giving birth and rearing children is emotionally rewarding, yet, exhausting work. We believe the work parents do should be supported by a community of compassionate helpers. We offer personalized and group support, reliable resources, evidence-informed strategies, and fun activities that empower families to provide exceptional care for children prenatal to 10 years-old.
Our services begin with pregnancy and end during middle childhood because these are optimal times to teach skills and provide information that can positively affect individuals’ overall health and well-being into the future.
We help families build confidence in their abilities to care for, teach, love, and keep their children safe during prenatal, postpartum and early parenting periods that will last a lifetime. All in all, we want families to bloom…strong and displaying their own unique beauty.
We believe...It is important for you to be an informed consumer. Take a few minutes to review our values.
families should be supported in birthing and caring for the next generation.
families deserve satisfying birth and family life experiences.
families should be well-informed about contemporary options for birth and family life.
babies are worthy of the best possible start.
babies and children have the right to grow up in families that provide exceptional care.
diversity should not only be valued, but honored and celebrated by working against racial and other forms of inequities and injustice.
family life professionals should advocate for what is best for all families at local, national, and international levels.
Hello! My name is Jenell Kelly. I am the creator and owner of Blossom Family Life Practice. I have a Ph.D. in Human and Community Development. I am also a Certified Family Life Educator and a Lamaze Certified Child Birth Educator. I am a DONA trained Postpartum doula and CCE trained coach. I started my career in a university setting. I wanted to have a big impact on children and families.
Getting married and having children of my own changed my life! The jobs that I landed after graduate school did not quite fit with the family life that I wanted. So, I switched career paths and started my own small business, BLOSSOM Family Life Practice. I'm looking forward to my new journey and having a big impact...one family at a time.
